Train the Trainer - Workshop

Train the Trainer workshops can be a single topic or a combination of topics.  Each Train the Trainer is specifically tailed to the needs and current requirements of the participants’ daily jobs. 

The Train the Trainer model reflects the theory that people who train others recall 90 percent of what they teach and that people learn new information through trusted social networks.  This course helps professionals to share Safe Sleep and/or grief information within their communities either through the normal course of their jobs or by offering workshops.   Each participant will be equipped to train others in the community. Benefits of the Train the Trainer include enhanced skills and knowledge, mastery of curriculum material and knowledge transfer to community members.

Topics include:  SIDS/SUID, Safe Sleep, Tummy Time, Products , Adult Grief, Children’s Grief, Death Notification. (Other topics can be added as needed)

This course will:

  • Assist participants to develop and/or expand their skills to conduct effective trainings that are specifically related to Safe Sleep guidelines.
  • Expand the knowledge and capacity of participants to understand the definitions and research basics relating to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), Sudden Unexplained Infant Deaths (SUID).
  • Improve the participants’ organizational capacity to address specific issues relating to Safe Sleep for infants in their community. 
  • Enable participants to recognize the cultural, societal and age related issues to parenting behaviors.   
  • Give participants the tools, skills and resources to conduct workshops and/or on the spot trainings.


Length of Training: 3 Hours

Training times can be adjusted to meet the specific needs of the participants.  Minimum time for single topic training is typically 3 hours.  3 hour – 12 hour (2 days) are available for multi-topic Train the Trainer workshops.

On-Site Training:

This course can be tailored to the needs of your organization and can be delivered on-site at a time and location of your choice.

Certificates of attendance are given to all participants.
